WTF IS ZOFTIG?
Zoftig (or zaftig) is a Yiddish word meant as
a term of endearment and often used to describe a curvy woman. It can also describe
a juicy, rich, or satisfying bite of something wonderful. That's exactly the experience I try to create with everything I offer my customers.
A SHORT HISTORY
Zoftig Bakehouse grew out of the year of pandemic baking that was 2020. When
COVID-19 had us all in lockdown last year I decided to spend some time baking treat boxes to deliver to my friends to make them smile. It turns out making people smile is kind of addictive, and now here we are!
I'll leave the viennoiserie and patisserie to the many talented pastry chefs in our city.
As a life-long home baker I'm here to celebrate that kind of baking! I aim to offer seasonally-minded, full-flavored and satisfying baked goods with interesting and complex flavors. Each week you'll see a variety of cookies and bars, a simple cake, and my favorite granola.
